Finally, I would like to share with all of you, the origin of the name of our beautiful city of Maracay:
The Maracay name comes from the Aboriginal word "Maracay" which means jaguar, although other theories say that the name comes from an Indian Chief. In these lands inhabited the tribe of the Tacarigua. The city is located in the basin of the rivers: Tapa-Tapa (lemon), Guey, Maracay and Tucupido, which flow into the Lake Los Tacarigua today (Lake of Valencia). Until the next installment.
